Since 1958, the Institute for Higher Social Communication Studies (IHECS) has organised training in the fields of journalism and communication, by linking both media theory and practice.
Looking towards the future, IHECS is keen to adapt its teaching methods to match developments in professional thinking and practices. So the school’s unique focus is essentially on a project-based learning approach.
IHECS trains future press and communication professionals by offering several different Master’s degrees:
- Journalism (Press and Information)
- Advertising
- Public Relations
- Sociocultural Activities and Lifelong Learning
- Media Literacy
- Event Management
Around 2,200 students are now following courses in our initial training school.
Nestled in the heart of Brussels, capital of Europe, IHECS is an open school. It offers a genuine European focus, through several of its training paths and numerous projects.
IHECS ACADEMY: short programmes and further education
Foreign students can engage in exchanges organised with our institutional partners. They also have an opportunity to follow training (Executive Masters, certificates and short modules) organised in the fields of event, communication, media and Europe by our further education centre, IHECS ACADEMY.
